I. Introduction to PCB

First of all, let's understand what PCB (Printed Circuit Board).PCB, that is, Printed Circuit Board, is the provider of electrical connection of electronic components. It uses insulating board as a substrate, through a certain process will conductive graphics (such as lines, pads, etc.) printed on it, so that electronic components can be connected and achieve its function.

Second, the PCB manufacturing process

1. Design phase

PCB manufacturing begins with the design. Designers use professional CAD software to draw circuit diagrams and convert them into PCB graphics files. These files describe in detail the PCB on the conductive graphics, component locations, connection methods.

2. Board-making stage

After the design is complete, the graphic files need to be transferred to the actual board. This step usually involves photolithography, exposure, development, etc., and ultimately the conductive graphics are printed precisely on the board.

3. Drilling stage

According to the design file, the PCB needs to be provided with soldering points for electronic components, which requires drilling. The drilling machine accurately punches holes on the PCB according to the position and size of the design file.

4. Plating stage

After drilling, the holes need to be metallised to form conductive channels. The plating process forms a metal film on the inner wall of the holes by electrolysis to make the holes conductive.

5. Component Placement and Soldering

After completing the above steps, the PCB is ready for component placement and soldering. This step is usually completed by automated equipment, greatly improving production efficiency.

6. Testing and Inspection

Finally, the completion of the PCB for rigorous testing and inspection to ensure that it meets the design requirements, and can work in the actual stable operation.

Third, PCB manufacturing considerations

In the PCB manufacturing process, there are many details that need attention. For example, the design should consider the layout and alignment of the circuit to reduce signal interference and loss; make the board to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the graphics; drill holes to control the location and size of the hole to avoid deviation; plating to ensure the uniformity and conductivity of the metallisation layer; in the component mounting and welding, to choose the appropriate equipment and process to ensure the quality and reliability of the weld; and finally, in the testing and inspection stage, to Adopt a variety of means and methods to comprehensively check the quality and performance of the PCB.

PCB manufacturing is a complex and delicate process that requires the synergy of multiple links and technologies. Only by grasping every step and detail can we manufacture high-quality, high-performance PCBs to provide solid support for the development of the electronics industry.
